where it started and where it’s going
Established in Bristol 2023, Studio Wilma is dedicated to designing and making pieces using traditional technique, a reaction to the fast furniture that pervades the furnishing industry. After honing skills working at one of the UK’s most prestigious cabinetmakers, Wilma wanted to take what she’d learnt to carve out her own niche in cabinetry. Since then we’ve worked in beautiful homes across Bristol, Somerset, Bath and Wiltshire making furniture sympathetic to the fabric and language of the property.
We believe that with proper technique and timeless design, the furniture we buy should outlive us. Using natural, raw materials is what gives character, beauty and importantly longevity. It’s the organic beauty of timbers that inspires; the way they move, their colour, their texture. We’d love to see a growth in natural materials being used in the home, not just for it’s beauty but for sustainability and the environment.
